"When I paddled the Bloodvein in September 2008, the river was flooded to record levels. Instead of encountering tame whitewater, I plunged through (and portaged around) massive rapids. But it´s the feeling of remoteness I´ll cherish most. Manitoba´s boreal forest is so vast and undeveloped, it seems like an unexplored continent."
